Filmstrips and Scripts n.d.

This series consists of seven filmstrips and their corresponding scripts. They were produced by the Women's Missionary Society/United Lutheran Church Women (WMS/ULCW). These filmstrips were to be used for educational, promotional, and outreach purposes at women's missionary society meetings. Each script was accompanied by a leader's guide, which included suggestions for meeting leaders and a suggested outline for the meeting program. There are no production dates indicated for these filmstrips. There are two copies of the filmstrip Women's Missionary Society of the United Lutheran Church in America. Women's Missionary Society of the United Lutheran Church in America was originally produced to be used in connection with the report of the Special Gifts Division in September 1949. How Lutheran Women Work appears to be a general overview of the WMS and its home and foreign mission projects. My Family's Hungry highlights the work of the WMS in hopes of encouraging increased stewardship and further study of the work of the ULCA. Meet Mrs. Yamasaki shows ULCW members how their congregations' benevolence and contributions to Thank Offering helped to establish the church in Japan. The Story Behind the Smiles focuses on India's Colony of Mercy, a ULCA mission home where disabled persons and others living on the margins of society in India lived, worked, and studied. Seethamma's Day is the story of a Jayanthi Seethamma, a Bible woman in India, and chronicles the typical day of a Bible woman. The filmstrips are in excellent condition. The color has faded somewhat on the strips that consists of artwork instead of photographs, but they are still clear and discernable. Duplicate scripts were removed.
